The Students’ Union Government, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus on Friday 24th November, 2017 had a closed door meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba at Presidential Lodge, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The meeting which started at about 11am had in attendance, the President, SUG UNEC, Comrade Ejike Confidence, Comr. Ezeja Joshua, SUG President, UNN and other members of the Executive Council from both Campus. Issues discussed in the meeting include, accommodation for students, school fees and the entrance road into University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.
On accommodation issue, the VC promised to speed up the works at the new hostel being constructed at UNEC, which will reasonably solve accommodation challenges in UNEC. He pleaded with the students to bear with the University Authority, as he works daily for our welfare, as that remained paramount in his agenda and vision for the University. He further thanked the leadership of the Union for their commitment to students’ welfare, and rightly pointed out that he had received countless of mails, the SUG UNEC president sent to him in regards to the hostel issue.
Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor also, announced at the meeting that works at the Entrance of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus has commenced, as he hoped that in due course we would all smile with how adoring the UNEC Entrance gate would be.
He also stated his administration’s commitment to students’ welfare, and ensuring that we all lived our dreams, and have a great University to bequeath to our children.
